Fantastic Videos of the NEWFS Garden in the Woods

The New England Wildflower Society's Garden in the Woods in Framingham, Massachusetts is one of the most beautiful public wildflower gardens in the United States. Not surprisingly, you can find some wonderful videos of the gardens online. Here are a few lovely ones.

A Walk through Garden in the Woods

From Harvard Magazine comes this video featuring garden volunteer Dr. Al Levin. A little rain doesn't deter Al from a lovely tour of the gardens. The collection at the garden consists of about 1,500 species. About 50% are native to New England and 45% are native to other areas of North America. The garden is 45 acres, where only 15 acres are cultivated. We see a few plants including striped maple, fairy candles, baneberry or doll's eyes, iris, wild phlox, summer sweet or Indian soap, and turk's cap lily.

Garden in the Woods Meanderings

A series of tranquil shots of the shady woodland trails as you can see them at the Garden in the Woods. Mostly long shots, but some close ups. Mostly video, but some still shots. Very nice and peaceful, just as the gardens are. Filmed in early June, so you see the flowers from late spring just starting to turn to summer.

Garden in the Woods

This short film is closeups of flowers and insects, along with some wider shots of the wetlands on a nice sunny day. Fimed in July, so you see the bigger showy flowers and full grown dragonflys of the season.
