Growing Aloe

Aloe is a succulent. It has fat pointed stems, normally with small spikes along the edges. The stems are generally green, although they will often turn red in sunnier locations.

Aloe can be grown outdoors in areas where there is no danger of frost. It is very drought tolerant. It should be planted in a sunny location with well drained soil.

Indoors, aloe should be given plenty of sun, a light potting soil or cactus soil, and should not be over watered - allow the soil to dry completely between waterings.

Aloe will produce pretty yellow or red flowers on tall spikes.
